201-HP 2021 Hyundai Elantra N-Line Looks More Edgy, Has a Manual Transmission

  • Hyundai has announced that the 2021 Hyundai Elantra is getting a turbocharged N-Line model, and it comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission.
  • It’s powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder that produces 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.
  • The 2021 Elantra N-Line will arrive in dealers in December starting at around $ 27,000.

The angularly redesigned 2021 Hyundai Elantra compact sedan is getting a turbocharged, more aggressive-looking N-Line model, and we’re rejoicing because it comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission (#SavetheManuals). Hyundai is hoping that offering an N-branded version of its entry-level sedan will entice more buyers into its high-performance N models.

Don’t get us wrong, the new Elantra’s already wild exterior styling looks fantastic, but the added N-Line touches make it look just the right amount of aggressive. The N-Line models come with a more intense black grille pattern with N-Line badging, and below it are larger air intakes to cool the turbocharged engine. It sits on a set of sharp 18-inch wheels with gloss-black surrounds on the wheel wells, mirrors, and side skirts. The sporty look flows into the rear with an integrated spoiler, a dual exhaust, and an N-Line-specific rear diffuser.

The standard Elantra is powered by a 147-hp naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter inline-four, and there’s also a hybrid model coming that promises 50 mpg combined. The N-Line uses a more powerful turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that’s good for 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, though a quick-shifting seven-speed dual-clutch automatic unit with paddle shifters is available. The N-Line also comes with N sport seats, alloy pedals, and other special touches.

It will arrive in the U.S. in December starting at around $ 27,000. Hyundai says that its Sonata N-Line with a turbo 2.5-liter engine will arrive shortly after.
