The new 992-generation Porsche 911 enters its second model year in the U.S. with a few new features and a striking new Python Green exterior color, pictured above. Options from the higher-end Turbo and Turbo S models are now available on the lower-end Carrera trim levels, and additional driver-assistance features are offered.
The extensive interior leather package standard on the Turbo S will now be offered on these lesser 911s; it’s called the 930 Leather package to signify that it pays homage to the leather interior of the original 930-generation 911 Turbo. The optional lightweight and noise-insulated glass also trickles down to the lower-end 911s, promising to reduce road and wind noise and save 8 pounds of weight.
Porsche now packages the 911’s optional driver-assistance features under the InnoDrive label, and lane-keep assist is now offered. The optional front axle lift system adds GPS capability so that it can remember to automatically lift the nose at certain programmable locations. And finally, the Sport Chrono package now includes a digital display in the gauge cluster for tire temperature.
We expect the 2021 Porsche 911 models to arrive in the U.S. later this year. Although the company hasn’t yet announced specific timing for these updates or option pricing, we don’t expect its starting price to change much from the 2020 model which starts at $ 98,750 for the base Carerra coupe.
