Official Model Cars From the Bond Films Ready for Your Order

  • You can’t watch the new James Bond film, No Time to Die, until November, but you can order some official merchandise today.
  • It’s more than Aston Martins and Jaguars; there’s also the Lotus submarine, along with some others among Bond’s classic outlandish rides.
  • There’s even a slot-car race set so you can drive while enjoying your martini.

With all of the time you’re probably spending at home these days—given the number of stay-at-home orders in effect around the world—you might want to spruce up the space you find yourself in. If you do, and you’re a James Bond fan, the people behind the brand would like you to know that a new batch of vehicle dioramas and famous Bond car models are now available to order at the 007 Store.

There’s a 1957 Chevy Bel Air, for example, like the one that had a “short, but exciting role” in 1962’s Dr. No. This die-cast metal model was made by Round 2 and is built to 1:64 scale. It comes with a movie advertisement display backdrop and is priced at the equivalent of $ 14. Or, if you fancy something that had a bit more screen time, there’s a 1:18 scale die-cast model of the Aston Martin DBS V-12 from 2008’s Quantum of Solace. Also built by Round 2, this one features opening doors, hood, and trunk and costs the equivalent of $ 98.

If rec-reating action scenes are more up your alley, perhaps opt for the two-car Micro Scalextric Race Set for the equivalent of $ 54 (pictured at top) that will be released later this year. The two vehicles included in the set are an Aston Martin DB5 and a Jaguar XF, and you can augment the 13-foot-long track with parts from the Scalextric store, including the Mains Powered Track Piece so you don’t burn through countless batteries trying to outrun the bad guy’s bullets. Larger, non-micro 1:32 scale Scalextric model slot cars are also available for about $ 50 each, including the Aston Martin V8 Vantage (below) and the Aston Martin DB5, both from the upcoming No Time to Die.

It wouldn’t be Bond if there wasn’t a bit of secret-agent absurdity offered as well. For this, we turn to the $ 33 James Bond Model Vehicle Collection made by Corgi. That sounds normal enough, but considering that the vehicles included are the Little Nellie one-person helicopter (below, from 1967’s You Only Live Twice), the Lotus Esprit submarine car (from 1977’s The Spy Who Loved Me) and the Moonraker Space Shuttle (1979’s Moonraker), these are not your average die-cast vehicles.

The 007 Store is, in their own words, the official online emporium featuring products inspired by the James Bond film series, but even if they’re selling movie fantasy replicas, they are still affected by the real world. With the coronavirus going around, the 007 Store is using some secret tech – well, actually just safe social distancing – to keep the shop open. They promise to send out orders for non-pre-order items within two business days of purchase.
