See Gameplay from the New Fast & Furious Crossroads Game

  • Fast & Furious Crossroads is the first game to come out of the ever expanding Fast & Furious franchise.
  • The game features voice acting from the stars of the movie, but no multiplayer details yet.
  • It will be available for purchase on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC starting August 7.

The Fast & Furious series continues to make the most ridiculous things we’ve ever watched on television, and that’s why we love it. Dom (Vin Diesel), Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), and Roman (Tyrese Gibson) are back at it again in this team-based action-packed title.

Announced back in December, the game appeared to be geared toward the original Fast & Furious movie from 2001, when the series was more about jumping over train tracks during street races and less about jumping cars between skyscrapers. The new trailer shows gameplay focusing more on the latter, with all types of crazy big jumps, giant explosions, and machine-gun-blasting action fans have loved from the newer movies.

A cinematic single-player mode puts you in the driver’s seat of high-speed cars like a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Widebody with a missile launcher in its trunk, to blast your way through a world of espionage and danger. No info yet about multiplayer, but the game developers say some form of it will exist with details coming soon.

During one of the heists, a Ford GT with a roof-mounted crane device steals a giant high-value container and uses it as a wrecking ball to escape the port authority at a shipping yard. Think of it as more of a Florida Man simulator without an alligator as the antagonist.

Since the announcement last December, commenters have been brutal. A few people have asked when the remastered version would launch, which is a jab at the lack of detailed high-gloss texture world gamers have come to expect in 2020. We’re hoping the lack of polish won’t make it any less fun. Really, much of the gameplay reminds us of some of our classic armed-vehicle classics like Twisted Metal or Vigilante 8. And thanks to the on-sale date of August 7, you will be able to chase runaway rocket ships and bad guys this summer. The game will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
